    Description

    Presented is an antique pair of English sterling silver tongs made by William Cattell during the 1770s or 1780s. The tongs are classically engraved with a bright cut border and the top has an old style monogram, usually symbolizing marriage, of the letter S over the letters I and S.
    The tongs are marked with the lion passant for sterling silver and WC for William Cattell.
    These tongs are in excellent overall condition. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs.
    The tongs measure 5 1/8 inches long and weigh 31.4 grams.
