    Description

A Rare Sterling silver & Ebony Wood Gavel made by Hilliard & Thompson in Birmingham to celebrate the sale of Property in Bigg Market in Newcastle & Tyne. The BIGG market has historical significance as it dates back to the middle ages when it was the site of a thriving marketplace that formed an important of the "Great North Road" The inscription on the gavel was presented to J.G Smith by Mr. W.G Channing as a memento for the sale of a property at the BIGG market. The gavel measures 7 1/2" long and features a ebony wood handle and solid sterling head. Good condition. One side of the sterling handle is inverted in and looks like it was made this way, but I can't tell. Please check to see new items I list each week. Shipping can and will be more if you live west of the Mississippi,. ALL Colorado to California locations will cost more as USPS charges much more when you pass this area. First class shipping for items under 1 pound or 16 ounces will be the price I have quoted above. Please wait for me to send you an invoice and always ask questions first.
PLEASE go to "Sellers Other Items" page to search through all my new and current listings. I am sure you will find other great pieces. I always combine shipping if you purchase more than one item. I ship quickly and offer two different forms of shipping. Standard which is first class and if you need it quicker Priority which is faster but will cost more.
ALWAYS ask questions before you bid if you want additional information or photos of the items. I am easy to work with.
I do my best to find great piece to bring to ebay and always am searching for new ones. I have a great return policy which is 30 days but I ask that you do not ask for a return just because you do not like a piece. If I make a mistake in the listing I pay for the return, but if you decide differently you are responsible for return shipping cost. I do ship ALL over the world, but now use nothing but "Express" Shipping which is signed for in Europe & elsewhere. Please ask if you have further questions on shipping.
SHIPPING Anywhere WEST of Missouri will cost MORE money and I will be adding an additional fee to the already stated shipping cost. Why don't I offer free shipping. Because I sell "Antique items" not new items and it takes time and effort to pack and use Very good materials to ship to you. It costs me a lot of money to do this for my buyers. I take a great amount of time and provide the best materials to ship.
I pack very well and you can be rest assured that your items will arrive in the same condition you see pictured.
ASK ALL QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVE THEM PRIOR TO BIDDING.
